Hi my name is Dr. Spencer Hoyt. My practice is called Fort Worth Dental Arts, in Fort Worth Texas. Dental implants are a significant part of my dental practice. I enjoy the science of implant dentistry and I have been studying Implantology science I was 22 years old. Earned my Doctor in Dental Surgery at the University of Pacific in San Francisco California and had my formal implant training at my advanced dentistry residency also at The University of the Pacific. - This case is very special to me. I have known this man since I was 24 years old and in my Advanced Dentistry Residency. He sent me a message on Instagram in 2020 and told me that he was ready to redo his smile, we planned out how many visits it would take and he traveled from the Central Valley of California to see me.
- He made three trips, one for records, another to place the dental implants, and another to create the restorations after the implants healed.
- I first created a digital smile design, which would give me a direction of how I wanted his smile to look. I then reviewed the smile design with him to get his input and approval of the concept. I then used implants, crowns, and veneers to execute the result.
- The after photo was taken a day after the final delivery, so his gums are still healing. He was on the way to the airport to go back to California.
- This patient's main concern was getting her smile back after some of her front teeth broke. She wanted healthy teeth and a bright smile.
- To achieve a good result you always start with the end in mind. I first created a smile design so I could see how her smile would look with a full natural style smile. I actually did the smile design for her twice, the reason is that I did not like the first design and I wanted to add more fullness.
- To achieve this result and restore her smile I placed two dental implants and ten ceramic restorations to replace crowns previously done by another dentist.

It is the closest thing to having your natural tooth back. A dental implant is a titanium screw that supports a ceramic tooth. Generally recovery is minimal and in most cases, Ibuprofen is enough to manage any discomfort.
How do you take care of a dental implant?

You brush and floss a dental implant just like your regular teeth, in my opinion the best way to take care of your dental implant is to maintain good home care and to maintain a regular dental exam and dental cleaning schedule. The reason is that at every visit we review home care and we also check for any problems. That way if a problem should arise we can take care of it before it gets worse.

Dr. Spencer Hoyt obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and followed his Residency/ Advanced Education in General Dentistry from the world-renowned University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA. He established Fort Worth Dental Arts in 2011 to see dentistry done differently as he was passionate about providing quality dental care to his community.
Dr. Hoyt is an active member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, CEREC Doctors, and Spear Education. He was voted Best Dentist' 2019, 2020, 2021 by Fort Worth Weekly.
